Where To Use
As an additive for site-mixed mortars for:
• Screeds & renders.
• Tile adhesives.
• Brick Jointing .
• Patch repairs.
Mixed with cement to prepare bonding slurries for:
• Bonding old to new concrete.
• Installing floor screeds.

Some application examples
• Tile Adhesion and Bonding
   - Improved Bond Strength: Mapelatex 119 is commonly used as an additive to improve the bonding strength of cementitious tile adhesives, especially in demanding areas.
   - Wet Areas: In bathrooms, swimming pools, and other high-moisture areas, Mapelatex 119 can enhance tile adhesion and prevent detachment over time.
• Surface Smoothing and Leveling
   - Floor Smoothing Compounds: It can be added to leveling compounds to smooth uneven concrete floors and substrates, making it suitable for preparing surfaces for floor coverings.
   - Patch Repair: Ideal for patching small areas of uneven concrete before tile or vinyl installations.
• Waterproofing in Mortars
   - Water-Resistant Screeds: Used in screeds for floors exposed to water, Mapelatex 119 increases the water resistance, making it suitable for balconies, terraces, and wet environments.
   - Cementitious Slurries: Added to cementitious waterproofing slurries for improved flexibility, adhesion, and water resistance.
• Concrete Repairs
   - Structural Repair: When mixed with repair mortars, Mapelatex 119 can enhance bonding to old concrete, making it effective for structural repair work.
   - Crack Filling and Plastering: It can be used with repair mortars to fill cracks and repair plaster, especially on exterior surfaces where extra durability is needed.
• Floor Screeds with Enhanced Flexibility
   - Heavy Traffic Areas: It can be used in industrial settings, garage floors, or warehouse areas where floors are subject to heavy loads.
   - Heating Systems: Works well with heated floors since it improves flexibility and reduces the likelihood of cracking due to thermal expansion.
• Bonding Agent for Old and New Concrete
   - Overlays: Used as a bonding agent to connect new concrete or mortar overlays onto existing concrete surfaces, making it useful for surface restoration.
   - Structural Strengthening: Enhances the durability of joints and connections between old and new concrete.

Recommendations
• Do Not Use Without Dilution: Mapelatex 119 must typically be diluted with water before use (check the specific instructions for the application). Using it undiluted could affect performance and application.
• Do Not Mix With Incompatible Materials: Avoid mixing with non-cementitious products or other admixtures that are not recommended by Mapei, as this could compromise the integrity of the mix.
• Do Not Apply to Unsuitable Substrates: Avoid using on surfaces that are weak, deteriorated, or contain dust, grease, or other contaminants. Ensure the substrate is clean and solid.
• Do Not Use in Low Temperatures: Avoid application when temperatures are below 5°C (41°F) or in environments where the product could freeze before setting. Cold temperatures may impair curing and performance.
• Do Not Apply to Excessively Wet or Dry Surfaces: Ensure the surface is slightly dampened, but do not apply on surfaces with standing water or overly dry surfaces, as this can hinder proper adhesion.
• Do Not Overuse: Excessive amounts of Mapelatex 119 can weaken the mixture rather than strengthening it. Always follow the recommended proportions.
• Do Not Store Improperly: Store Mapelatex 119 in a cool, dry place. Extreme temperatures can compromise its performance, so avoid exposing it to frost or excessive heat.
• Do Not Skip Curing Instructions: Curing times may vary by application, so do not skip or rush the curing process. Inadequate curing can affect durability and bonding strength.
• Do Not Use for Structural Repairs: Mapelatex 119 is designed to improve bonding and flexibility in cement-based products but is not intended for structural repairs that require significant load-bearing capacity.
