Recommendations
• Do Not Apply on Wet Surfaces: Make sure the surface is completely dry. Moisture can affect adhesion and the curing process, leading to poor performance.
• Do Not Apply in Extreme Temperatures: Avoid application in temperatures below 5°C (41°F) or above 35°C (95°F). Extreme temperatures can hinder the curing process and reduce effectiveness.
• Do Not Use Over Oil or Grease: Ensure that the application surface is free from oil, grease, or any contaminants that could interfere with adhesion.
• Do Not Apply Without Priming Porous Surfaces: On highly absorbent or porous surfaces, use a suitable primer before applying Aquaflex Roof 77 to enhance adhesion and waterproofing performance.
• Do Not Ignore Surface Preparation: Properly clean and prepare the substrate by removing dust, debris, and loose materials. Inadequate preparation may result in poor adhesion and leaks.
• Do Not Apply Too Thickly in a Single Coat: Applying a thick layer at once can lead to improper curing. Follow the recommended thickness, typically in two or more coats, to ensure even coverage and curing.
• Do Not Use on Surfaces Exposed to Negative Hydrostatic Pressure: Aquaflex Roof 77 is intended for surfaces with positive hydrostatic pressure. Using it on surfaces where water pressure may push inward can compromise the membrane.
• Do Not Allow Standing Water During Curing: Protect the area from rain or standing water until the product has fully cured to avoid dilution or washing away of the membrane.
• Do Not Ignore the Manufacturer’s Recommendations: Always refer to the technical data sheet (TDS) provided by Mapei for best practices, recommended application techniques, and limitations specific to Aquaflex Roof 77.
• Do Not Use In Areas with Continuous Heavy Foot Traffic: Aquaflex Roof 77 is not designed for heavy-duty applications, such as walkways or areas with high foot traffic. Use a more robust coating if this is needed.
