Description
PYE FIX is a thin-bed cement-based adhesive for the fixing of ceramic floors, wall tiles, and mosaics. It has been specially formulated for use over sand/ cement render, is non-toxic, easy to apply and no wetting of tiles is required when fixing. It is considerably lighter in comparison with conventional sand/ cement mortar and the final weight of the finished installation is proportionately reduced.
Suitable For
PYE FIX is ideal for fixing ceramic tiles, mosaics, and quarry tiles in bathrooms, kitchens, laundry, family rooms, entrance halls, and outdoor living areas on concrete, cement render, and brickwork. DO NOT use PYE FIX on gypsum, wood, or metal substrates.

Directions For Use
- Surface Preparation
- The surfaces to be tiled must be firm and clean from dust, paint, and other contaminants. Steel float concrete floors must be acidly etched prior to tiling.
- Mixing
- Mix the 25kg powder with 25% of clean water to a creamy consistency. Mix sufficient to last 30 - 60 minutes. Allow mixture to stand for 8 - 10 minutes. The mixture should be used within 2 hours.
- Application
- Sand/ cement render should be left with a wood float finish. It must be clean and free from dust and oil. Allow 7 days after rendering before fixing tiles with PYE FIX. Use a notched trowel to spread the adhesive on the surface to a thickness of about 3mm for flat-backed ceramic tiles. Tiles with grooves, ridges, or knobs on the back should be laid using a 6mm x 6mm notched trowel. Press tiles in place with a twisting motion. Firmly tap the tile with the handle of a hammer or rubber mallet whilst positioning the tiles. When laying large areas, ensure that expansion joints are incorporated in the design stage.
- Do not spread more than 1sq. a meter at a time. Should the adhesive dry up due to a long delay, remove the adhesive and comb out a fresh layer. Do not soak tiles in water.
